At first glance, it seems to be an ordinary snap of a group of young people. But look more carefully and there appears to be an extraordinary, ghostly presence among them. Peeping out between the knees of two of the girls is the face of a child. The eerie image - clear enough to show a pair of eyes, a nose, a mouth and hair - was captured by 17-year-old Matthew Summers on his mobile phone as he and his friends were preparing to go out. "I zoomed in to my sister's mate's little sister who was crying and I saw a face," Matthew said. "You can see all the facial expressions and everything. "Usually when you see pictures like that it's a blur but this one is really weird. "I was really shocked because I don't believe in that stuff." Matthew took the picture in his sister's friend's front room in Billingham, Teesside. "I've sent it to my girlfriend and she thinks it's a bit weird," he added. His photo joins a long line of apparently paranormal snaps. The most memorable in recent times was a cloaked figure photographed standing in a doorway at Hampton Court Palace in 2003. However, Ciaran O'Keeffe, a parapsychologist on Living TV's Most Haunted show, has a more down-to-earth explanation for the "child" in Matthew's photograph.
Isn't human psychology great... For whatever reason of elovution human brains have been programmed for facial recognition, which includes seeing faces, in a connect the dots kind of way, even when there isn't actually a face. I agree it looks like a face, but you have drawn my attention to it. Would I have seen this face if you weren't circling it in red. Mary on a piece of grilled cheese, Jesus on a mirrored building, et cetera ad infinitum. I've seen the face of a dog in the knots in wood, so what, is it the soul of a dearly departed pup?
Listen, in the world of today where there are fewer and fewer mysteries, it seems we strive to find mysteries where there are none. I would agree that a world without mysteries would be boring indeed, but there are still real, unexplainable mysteries out there, that don't require making a face where there isn't one.
Could it have been a lighting effect? Or maybe a quick touch on Photoshop? I don't mean to be skeptical. Ghostly faces have been captured on photos; but the photos have to be scientifically examined to prove that they haven't been doctored.
that must be some mobile phone. because all the phones I've seen never take that good of a picture. oh yes, and why just a face? usually child ghosts/spirits show their entire being, not just their face.
I know someone who was linked to the people in this photo somehow (cant remember how).
There is more to this story... The "real girl" had been unsettled all day and she is not usually like that! No matter what they did, the girl wouldn't settle. You see her unsettled here, in the photo. It is said that younger children can pick up the presence of spirits a lot easier, due to their purity, I have seen this photograph without the red circle and saw the face straight away. so strange! There is a bit on ghost busters 2 that says spirits can be picked up by camera, and for some reason this is true! I have taken a strange "spirit" picture myself, but didn't see the spirit with my eyes until i had taken the picture!
